Sri Lanka President Ranil Wickremesinghe has appointed three new Provincial Governors. The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.
P.S.M. Charles, who previously served as the Northern Province Governor in 2019, has been reinstated as the Governor of the Northern Province. Ceylon Workers' Congress Leader Senthil Thondaman, has been sworn in as the Governor
of the Eastern Province.
Sri Lanka Freedom Party Member Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena, has been appointed as the Governor for the North Western Province.
These appointments come after the posts fell vacant after the removal of Jeevan Thiagarajah, Anuradha Yahampath, and Admiral of the Fleet Wasantha Karannagoda on Monday.
