Colombo: The Depression over south-west bay of Bengal will cross the Sri Lankan coast tomorrow morning. The Sri Lankan department of meteorology has issued a warning with a red alert for heavy showers and strong winds for the entire island. People living in landslide-prone areas and low-lying areas in river basins are advised to
be vigilant.
In addition, the Met department has said that the sea areas will remain rough with swell waves of up to 3 metres height from Pottuvil to Mannar. Naval and fishing communities are advised not to venture into the sea areas indicated by the department.
