In Thailand, the election commission yesterday said it will hold a general election on March 24. It will be the first polls since a military coup in May 2014.

Commission Chairman Ittiporn Boonprakong told reporters in Bangkok yesterday Political parties should submit lists of candidates to the commission between Feb. 4 and 8.
