Thousands of Palestinians are returning to their homes in Khan Younis, following the Israeli military’s announcement that it has concluded a week-long operation in southern Gaza City. According to media reports, Israeli troops re-entered the city last week after officials said that Hamas was attempting to reassemble its forces there.
The UN agencies said that around one
lakh 50 thousand Palestinians were forced to flee their homes ahead of the operation. The Israel Defence Forces today said that more than 150 gunmen had been killed during the week-long offensive. On the other hand, the Hamas-run Gaza media office reported that at least 250 Palestinians were killed and more than 300 injured during the fighting.
