Three Saudi nationals wanted for their involvement in terror activities have been killed, said the official spokesman of the State Security Presidency in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
Three security men were also slightly injured in the exchange of fire on Tuesday night, the statement said.
The raid was conducted following an intelligence information of the whereabouts of the three people at a hideout in Al Kuwaikeb district, central Al Qatif province.
No other resident of the building or passersby were hurt in the exchange of
fire.
The concerned authorities at the State Security Presidency were able to pinpoint three of the culprits who were taking refuge in the house. After surrounding the site, the security forces asked the men to surrender.
Instead, they started to fire at the security men, slightly injuring three of them, and threatening the safety of the residents of the building and passersby. The security men had to act accordingly and opened fire, resulting in the death of three.
The killed Saudi nationals included Mohammed Hasan Ahmed Al Zaid, Mufeed Hamza Ali Al Alwan and Khalil Ibrahim Hasan Al Muslim
