SEETHING protesters raging against today’s inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump have been sprayed with tear gas as thousands take to the streets across the US to vent their anger at the Republican.

Images from New York show furious protesters holding anti-Trump banners as celebrities spoke out against the country’s soon to-be 45th President.

Videos posted on social media show police deploying tear gas in clashes with activists outside the National Press Club in Washington DC.

And a crowd marched on Trump Tower in Manhattan – the future President’s property empire headquarters.
Controversial director Michael Moore joined actors such as Alec Baldwin and singer Cher in denouncing Mr Trump.

The Believe singer told the crowd: “I have been accused of being so many things.
“The only thing that can save us is you.

“Nothing happened to stop Vietnam



until we got into the streets.

“The power of the people is bigger than those a******s who are there in Washington.”
Mr Moore branded the Republican a “sociopath”, adding: “With a lot of work on our part, we will stop this man,"

"He will not last four years.
Protest group Disrupt J20 took to twitter to urge Americans to take part in a general strike today, vowing: “No peaceful transition.”

The President-elect has promised a “beautiful” inauguration despite plans for a wave of protests and boycotts by US congressmen.

Anti-Trump marches are also planned in the UK during the firebrand Republican’s swearing-in.
Activist group Stand Up To Racism have planned demonstrations in 20 UK cities, including a protest outside the US embassy in London.

Most protests will begin at 5pm on Friday – the time that Mr Trump will take the oath of office
