President Donald Trump confirmed direct contacts between the United States and North Korea and gave his consent to talks aimed at formally ending the Korean war in a series of diplomatic revelations yesterday.
Setting the stage for a major breakthrough at a series of upcoming summits, Trump said a great chance to solve a world problem was within reach on the Korean peninsula.
Along with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at his Palm Beach, Florida resort, the US president said that a rare inter-Korean summit
in 10 days time could, discuss an elusive peace treaty. He said people, do not realise the Korean War has not ended adding that it is going on right now. With those comments, Trump appeared to confirm that North and South Korean talks on Apr 27 will touch on a possible peace treaty.
Trump also confirmed that Washington and Pyongyang had been in contact at very high levels and that five locations were being considered for a landmark summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
