US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order to advance controversial Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines. His latest actions to overturn the policies of former President Barack Obama, the nation's chief executive he replaced four days ago. Mr Trump signed executive orders calling for new negotiations to allow construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, which



is designed to carry Canadian oil sands crude through the US to refineries near the Gulf of Mexico, and the Dakota Access pipeline sending oil from the state of North Dakota south to Illinois. Trump's executive order aroused a lot of criticism from environmental groups. However, Trump's decision has earned a warm welcome from US oil and natural gas industry.
