Donald Trump was projected to win Pennsylvania and was just a step away from clinching the White House race today, even as the Hillary Clinton Campaign refused to concede defeat arguing that it will wait till all the votes are counted.
The Wall Street Journal said Trump's victory in Pennsylvania, all but vanquishes the chances of Democratic presidential nominee Clinton winning the elections. Trump was projected to have got 265 electoral college votes, as against 218 for Clinton. To win the presidential election, a candidate needs 270 of the 538 electoral college
votes.
Clinton Campaign's Chairman John Podesta, meanwhile said, "It has been a long night. We are still counting votes. And every vote should be counted. So we will not have anything to say tonight. Her voices and your enthusiasm means so much to her and all of us."
"She (Clinton) is not done yet," Podesta told Clinton's supporters in the wee hours. The New York Times said, "Trump is on the verge of a stunning victory".
"Donald Trump has won Pennsylvania, all but ensuring that he will be the next president of the United States," the daily said.
