In Taiwan, at least four people were killed and 225 injured in a 6(point) 4-magnitude quake that hit the country last night.
Many people are believed to be still trapped inside buildings, including a military hospital, after the quake hit about 22 kilometers northeast of Hualien on Taiwan’s east coast.
According to government data, 145 people are missing. National fire agency said at least four buildings have collapsed or have been damaged. Hualien one of Taiwan's most popular tourist
hubs is home to about 100,000 people.
Emergency responders, including soldiers, are working to rescue people from damaged buildings. President Tsai Ing-wen, after visiting the hospitals and relief centres, said the government would help Hualien to the best of their abilities.
Taiwan's weather bureau said, there had been at least 15 aftershocks following the quake. It warned that aftershocks with a magnitude of at least 5.0 could rock the island in the next two weeks.
