Two men who assaulted policemen in Jeddah corniche arrested

JEDDAH: Authorities on Wednesday arrested two members of a group of bikers who assaulted a police officer in Jeddah on Tuesday before fleeing the scene.

The two illegal African immigrants confessed to the assault. They were seen in video footage hitting the officer after he prevented them from entering a recreation area



on the corniche.

The police officer was injured and transported to hospital.

After the incident, the police surrounded all corniche roads and nearby areas while an urgent meeting involving the commands of different security divisions was held early Wednesday morning at Jeddah police central station.
