In Nepal, two roads connecting the provincial capital Hetauda to the federal capital Kathmandu have been completely blocked due to landslides triggered by incessant rain. Landslides have blocked the road passing through Sisneri, Kulekhani, Pharping and Kathmandu in Ramchandra Bhanjyang of Indrasarowar Rural Municipality. Likewise, the Kanti highway has been completely blocked due to the landslides that fell in the Bhimphedi rural municipality-8 Mahadeotar road section of Makwanpur.
A landslide has obstructed the Diktel-Halesi road section of the Mid-Hill
highway since this morning. landslides are continuously happening. Vehicular movement at the road section was obstructed due to a landslide that occurred at Nagi of Halesi Tuwachung municipality.
Passengers heading towards Kathmandu from different districts of eastern Tarai have been stranded due to road obstruction. Efforts were underway from the morning to remove landslide debris to resume vehicular movement. The death toll in the Shailung landslide reached seven, three people are still missing.
