UAE Prez Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan orders release of 662 prisoners

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has ordered the release of 662 prisoners, serving various sentences, ahead of the UAE’s 48th National Day.

The Emirates News Agency reported that Sheikh Khalifa has also pledged to settle the financial obligations of the released prisoners. It said, the nationalities of the prisoners to be released are yet



to be known.

It added, the UAE President is desirous to give the prisoners a chance to start a new life and alleviate the suffering of their families. The UAE National Day is celebrated on 2nd of December every year. It marks the unification of the seven Emirates to form the United Arab Emirates.
