Ukraine has agreed to hold talks with Russia at the Belarus border, the Ukraine presidency was cited as saying by AFP. The talks will be held near the Chernobyl exclusion zone.
According to reports, the agreement for talks is a result of a phone call conversation between President Volodymyr Zelensky and Belarus President, Alexander Lukashenko.
It was agreed that the Ukrainian delegation would meet with the Russian delegation without preconditions on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, near the Pripyat River.

The development comes after Russia had earlier sent a delegation to Belarus and said it was ready to start peace negotiations with Ukraine in Gomel city, Ukraine's President Zelensky had rejected Moscow's offer.
Earlier, President Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov had said, “Russia is already ready for talks in Gomel. Now Moscow is waiting for the Ukrainians.”
Though, Ukraine President Zelensky had rejected Moscow's offer.
Zelensky said that Russia has been carrying out some of its attacks on Ukraine from Belarus and he is open to talks only in locations that are not showing aggression towards his country. Locations acceptable to Ukraine President Zelensky include Warsaw, Istanbul and Baku.
