Ukraine carried out massive drone and missile strikes on several regions of Russia overnight. The attack damaged at least two factories and forced schools to close in a major southern Russian city.
According to media reports, Russian forces had downed more than 200 Ukrainian drones and five U.S.-made ATACMS ballistic missiles. It was reported that flight restrictions were also imposed in the southern cities of Kazan, Saratov, Penza, Ulyanovsk, and Nizhnekamsk.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defence Ministry said that its forces have taken control of
the Yantarnoe village in the Donetsk Republic and the Kalinoveo village in the Kharkiv Region.
In a related development, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has announced that Moscow is ready to discuss security guarantees for Ukraine. Speaking at a press conference in Moscow today, Mr. Lavrov emphasised, however, that any talks must take place within a broader Eurasian framework in order to address larger geopolitical issues. He reiterated that the Eurasian context will play a dominant role in these discussions.
