Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed exchanging two captured North Korean soldiers for Ukrainian prisoners held in Russia. The proposal shared on his social media account on X, follows his announcement that the soldiers were seized in Russia’s western Kursk region. Mr Zelenskyy also posted a video showing the two wounded North Korean soldiers being interrogated with
the help of a Korean interpreter.
South Korean officials estimate that North Korea has sent about 11,000 troops to support Russia in its war against Ukraine. South Korea’s spy agency recently reported that at least 100 North Korean soldiers have been killed and around 1,000 injured in the conflict.
