The United Nations has allocated two million US dollars to support the Vietnamese government’s humanitarian response following widespread damage inflicted by Typhoon Yagi. The funds will be directed to the International Organisation for Migration, the UN Development Programme, and the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) to address immediate needs in the hardest-hit provinces of Yen Bai and Lao Cai.
The funding will focus on
providing emergency shelter and water, sanitation, and hygiene assistance, particularly targeting communities with pre-existing vulnerabilities.
