A US appeals court has rejected a bid to reinstate President Donald Trump's controversial travel ban from seven Muslim countries. The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals said it will not block a lower-court ruling that brought the President's executive order to a halt. The latest ruling meas that President Trump's travel ban will remain blocked and citizens from Iraq, Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen will continue to be
able to travel to the United States.
President Trump issued the travel ban on January 27, citing terror threats and putting the national security of the US at risk. It led to causing chaos, confusion and protests at international airports as the legal status of people in transition was suddenly thrown into question.
The US Supreme Court will likely determine the case's final outcome.
