US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo yesterday said that it is "considering a full range of options" regarding rising tensions with Iran, including military options. In an interview with TV Channel, Mr. Pompeo said President Donald Trump has said clearly that he does not want to go to war.
Mr. Pompeo said we have briefed the President a couple of times, we'll continue to keep him d. We are confident that we can take a set of actions that can restore deterrence which is our mission set. The President will consider everything we need to do to make sure,
right.
US Secretary of State's comments come as tensions are rising in the waterways of the Middle East, where two tankers were attacked near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz. Iran has categorically denied the attacks. The United States has blamed Iran for the attack on the tankers in the Gulf of Oman.
Earlier, Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said today that the United States may have carried out "acts of sabotage" against two oil tankers in the Sea of Oman to blame them on Iran and pressure Tehran.
