In Pakistan, a US drone strike killed a Taliban commander and his associate in northwest tribal region of Waziristan near the Afghan border yesterday. Sources said the US drone fired two missiles at commander Abdullah Dawar and his associate at Noor Tangi area of tehsil Datta Khel in North Waziristan, which has long been a sanctuary
for Pakistani Taliban and other terror groups.
The terrorists were from the Gul Bahadur group, which is blamed for carrying out attacks inside Afghanistan. Last month, Pakistani Taliban leader Mullah Fazlullah was killed in a drone strike in Afghanistan.
