In Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, US-led airstrikes hit the military sites controlled by the Houthi group. According to a Houthi-run TV channel, key sites hit included the Defence Ministry building, the 1st Armor Division, and an ammunition manufacturing facility.

The strikes caused significant damage, with some nearby houses partially affected. Ambulances were seen at the locations as Houthi forces cordoned off the areas. However, Houthi casualties remain undisclosed.

The airstrikes followed Houthi claims of missile and drone attacks on Israel’s Ben Gurion airport, a power station near

Jerusalem, and the US aircraft carrier USS Harry Truman.

The US Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed precision strikes on Houthi command facilities, weapons production sites, and a coastal radar installation on December 30 and 31. CENTCOM stated these operations aim to weaken Houthi capabilities threatening US and allied vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

The Houthi group has intensified attacks on Israel and US naval assets since November 2023, citing support for Palestinians in Gaza. The US-led coalition continues to target Houthi positions in retaliation.
