Independent US presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. suspended his campaign for the White House last night and endorsed former president and Republican nominee Donald Trump. In an address, Mr. Kennedy said that he was suspending his campaign as he no longer believed that he had a realistic path to electoral victory.
Mr. Kennedy clarified that he was suspending, not terminating, his campaign. He also mentioned that he plans
to withdraw his name from the ballot in 10 key battleground states where there are concerns he might take votes away from Mr. Trump.
Mr. Kennedy began his presidential campaign in April 2023, initially running as a Democrat. However, under pressure from within the party, he later shifted his strategy and rebranded his campaign as an independent, third-party bid in October 2023.
