US President Donald Trump held discussions with Israeli and Arab leaders, ahead of his plans to recognise Jerusalem as Israel's capital.The White House said, Mr Trump spoke separately with Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas, King Abdullah II of Jordan, Egypt President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, and King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia. 

They discussed potential decisions regarding Jerusalem. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said, Mr Trump will announce his decision today. The President will deliver remarks regarding this action tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah



al-Sisi, one of Mr Trump's closest allies in West Asia, urged the US President to be cautious. In a phone call, Mr Sisi urged Mr Trump not to complicate the situation in the region by taking measures that jeopardise the chances of peace in West Asia. 

The Egytian President also confirmed Egypt's consistent position on maintaining the legal status of Jerusalem within the framework of international standards and relevant United Nations resolutions. 

He said the international community considers east Jerusalem illegally occupied by Israel and most countries have their embassies in the coastal city of Tel Aviv.
