Washington: The US will lift travel restrictions from November 8 for foreign nationals who have been fully vaccinated, White House announced last night. Starting November 8, United States will admit fully vaccinated foreign air travelers from the 26 so-called Schengen countries in Europe as well as India, Britain, Ireland, South Africa and Brazil. US health authorities have said that all vaccines approved by the Food and Drug Administration and the World Health Organization would be accepted for entry by

air.

Unvaccinated visitors will still be barred from entering the United States from Canada or Mexico at land borders.

Curbs on non-essential travelers at land borders have been in place since March 2020 to address the Covid-19 pandemic.

Restrictions on non-US citizens were first imposed on air travelers from China in January 2020 by then-President Donald Trump and then extended to dozens of other countries.
