In Russia, partial results shows ruling United Russia party is far ahead in the Parliamentary polls that could pave the way for President Vladimir Putin to glide to a fourth term in elections in 2018. According to Electoral Commission, after counting of 20 per cent ballot votes, United Russia got 49.8 per cent ahead of Liberal Democratic Party on 15.7
per cent.
The Communists party bagged 15.3 per cent while a Just Russia party received 6.4 per cent votes. After the vote, President Putin said, people voted for United Russia, and the party secured a good result. Voting took place yesterday in Russia to choose 450 MPs in the State Duma (lower house), for the next five years.
