In Pakistan, polling for by-elections in 11 National Assembly and 24 provincial assembly seats ended on Sunday.
According to Dawn News TV, vote counting at some of the polling stations has begun. Nearly 80 per cent of overseas Pakistanis, registered through i-voting, also cast their ballots.
Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is contesting for the National Assembly seat again this time as he
had lost in July 25 Parliamentary polls.
Most of the seats, went for the poll, were vacated by the candidates who had won on more than one seat during general elections on July 25.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had won five seats and vacated four. Thousands of soldiers were deployed to provide security at 7,489 polling stations.
