Egypt-based Wadi Food, a leading provider of high-quality, natural and healthy food products, was recently awarded the ‘2018 Gold Award’ for its superior extra virgin olive oil at the New York International Olive Oil Competition (NYIOOC) held in New York, US.
Considered one of the prestigious and trusted olive oil competitions in the world, NYIOOC features nearly 700 olive oils from 25 countries, said a statement.
The oils in the competition were rated by a group of international olive oil experts, as well as amateur testers and esteemed judges and renowned chefs who rated each oil’s fruitiness, pungency and bitterness while noting any defects that are not allowed in extra virgin olive oil, it said.
Wadi Food’s Gold award-winning entry is a medium Coratina extra virgin olive oil with tasting
sensations, it added.
It is made from handpicked organic olives that have matured on the trees in Wadi Food’s carefully-tended groves.
The fruit is expertly cold pressed within hours of harvesting to ensure the quality of the brand’s uniquely flavourful, healthy olive oil.
The winning brand is featured on the Official Index of the World's Best Olive Oils, the most-trusted olive oil guide in the world.
Khalil Nasrallah, Wadi Food’s agro chief sector, said: “Our award-winning extra virgin olive oil is our bestselling product and number one reason for our excellent reputation both in Egypt and abroad.”
“It is a true testament to our mission that began nearly three decades ago; producing only the best olive oils to supply the world with pure, healthy and delicious food,” he added.
