A woman made a shock discovery wrapped around her Christmas tree that wasn't a decoration - a one-metre venomous snake.
The tree's owner, referred to only as Cheryl, put a call in to her local snake catcher in Melbourne, Australia, to report the tiger snake hiding among the tinsel.
Tiger snakes, commonly found in southern regions of Australia, are highly
venomous.
Local snake catcher Barry Goldsmith wrote on Facebook that Cheryl had not panicked when she contacted him.
Mr Goldsmith arrived at her house and had the snake "in a bag 20 minutes later".
"She didn't panic, she just took a photo and sent it to the snake catcher, me, and 20 minutes later I had the little b***** in a bag," Mr Goldsmith wrote.
