As heavy rain continues to lash across Kerala,many regions are reporting severe waterlogging.The Met Department issued orange alert for seven districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Ernakulam today and yellow alert in the remaining districts.

The relentless downpour is causing severe flooding in the low lying regions with Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam being the worst



hit.
 
Relief camps are opened in various districts. Hilly regions and coastal areas are in high alert.
 
Meanwhile, the IMD forecast that  the monsoon will arrive in Kerala within the next 24 hours, with heavy rain expected to continue until  2nd of June. Fishing is prohibited along the southern Kerala coast and Lakshadweep coast.
