In Rajasthan, residents of Jalore, Barmer, Pali and Sirohi districts facing flood-like situations have come to relief as rain activities stopped yesterday. Due to the effect of cyclonic storm Biparjoch, there was heavy rain at some places of Jaipur, Ajmer, Bharatpur, and Kota divisions yesterday. Incessant rain since last night in Tonk and Sawai Madhopur districts led to water-logging in several low-lying places. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for heavy rainfall in Bundi and Sawai Madhopur today.
The Meteorological Department has forecast rain activities in the eastern parts of the state as an effect of Biparjoy.
Relief work has now been intensified in
the districts affected by extremely heavy rains. Many villages and towns are still water-logged due to extremely heavy rains in the last three days in Jalore, Barmer, Sirohi, and Pali districts of the state. Electricity supply is affected in several villages and many cities due to uprooting of electric poles in a large number in Sirohi and Barmer districts. NDRF, SDRF, and district administration teams are engaged in relief work.
Divisional Commissioner of Jodhpur Kailash Meena today visited the heavy rain-affected areas of the division. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will visit the affected districts today.
