NEW DELHI-- An Indian student in Poland was reportedly beaten to death at the the Market Jeżyckim in Poznan on Wednesday.

Minister for External Affairs Sushma Swaraj has asked for a report on the matter. Swaraj has sought a report from the Indian ambassador in Poland regarding a media report of an Indian student allegedly beaten to death in the country.

"I have just spoken to the Indian Ambassador in Poland and asked for a report," she

tweeted.

Swaraj's comment came in response to a tweet by a netizen who approached her with a news item in Polish media about the death of an Indian student after being beaten.

According to the report, the reason for the crime and the identity of the student is not yet known.

This comes nearly a month after an Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla was shot dead in a racially motivated incident in US' Kansas City.
