The rains continues to create havoc in many parts in Madhya Pradesh. The water level of all the major rivers is rising rapidly and there are flood situations in many areas.

The state has received 14 percent more rainfall since 1 June this year.  According to the MeT Department, there has been 9 percent more rainfall in eastern Madhya Pradesh and 20



percent more in the western part. 

Even today, there is an orange alert for extremely heavy rains in 9 districts of the state and an alert for heavy rains in 19 districts. Sagar district has become a flood-like situation while all the gates of the dams in Tikamgarh and Betul have to be opened.
