11 people electrocuted in temple chariot procession in Thanjavur, TN

Chennai: In Tamil Nadu, eleven people lost their lives due to electrocution when a temple chariot came in contact with heavy tension wire. The incident occurred early morning at Kalimedu village near Thanjavur, when the local temple car was

taken out on a procession as part of the annual Chitra Festival.

Several others sustained injuries and are admitted into the Government Medical College Hospital in Thanjavur.
