In-service doctors across the Rajasthan state yesterday evening called off their 12 days long strike after an eight hour meeting with ministers and officials. More than 9 thousand in-service doctors will join their duties today and health services of the state will be restored.
The in-service doctors and resident doctors of all medical colleges were on strike from last 12 days. All Rajasthan in-service Doctors Association and Jaipur Association of Resident Doctors signed an agreement with the government yesterday to end the strike.
The state government has accepted almost all the demands of the in-service and resident doctors.The end of the strike comes just two days after the Rajasthan high court
issued directions to the state government to proceed in accordance with the low to bring back doctors to work.
Following the High Court’s directions, the state government and the striking doctors both under pressure to reach an agreement.
After intervention of the Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, the state government assigned the job to end the strike to four ministers and state BJP president Ashok Parnami.
After the marathon meeting, Mr. Parnami said that both the parties have reached an amicable solution. After ending the 12 days strike, it is expected that the health services of the state will be restored today and patients will get relief.
