The 128th anniversary of Nobel laureate Bharat Ratna Sir CV Raman is being celebrated today. 
Many functions including debates have been organized in schools and colleges in Tamil Nadu today.The nation remembers Sir CV Raman who discovered Raman Effect on his 128th birthday today. 
Sir CV Raman was born on November 7 in the year 1888 at Thiruvanaikaval in



Tiruchirapalli Tamil Nadu.Sir CV Raman discovered Raman effect - scattering of light which makes the sea and clear sky look blue. 
India celebrates National Science Day every year on February 28 to mark the discovery of Raman Effect.Sir CV Raman was awarded the Nobel prize in 1930 and Bharat Ratna in 1954. The great scientist still inspires young minds instilling scientific temper.
