13 fishermen released from Sri Lankan prisons arrive in Chennai

Thirteen fishermen from Rameswaram released from Srilankan prisons reached Chennai airport early morning today. The fisherman on arrival were sent to their respective native places by the State Fisheries Department.

These fishermen were arrested on



February 19 and 20 from Rameswaram in the Ramanathapuram district, allegedly for cross-border fishing. Subsequently, on March 30, the Sri Lankan government released and handed them over to Indian embassy officials in Colombo.
