here.
The PWD minister, whose department has been tasked with installation of the cameras, has written to all MLAs seeking to know the requirement of device in their areas by August 15.
"If the number goes beyond 2,000, legislators can then get CCTV cameras installed through their MLA LAD fund."We hope that by October, all tendering process will be completed and thereafter, all 1.5 lakh CCTV cameras will be installed in the next five to six months," he said.
Jain said that centralised monitoring of CCTV cameras will not be done and instead, it will be carried out by RWAs and market associations at the local level.
"The recording of cameras can be maintained for 30 days.
In New Delhi constituency, CCTV cameras have been installed in several areas," Jain said.
