16th Legislative Assembly begins today in Tamil Nadu

The 16th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly has been summoned to meet for its first session today. The 234 newly elected Members of the legislative Assembly will be sworn in by the Protem Speaker K.Pichandi.

The inaugural Session will be held at Kalaivanar Arangam, at the Omandurar Government Estate instead of the



traditional Fort St.George to maintain social distancing and other Covid protocols. The Assembly  Speaker's election will be held tomorrow. DMK's senior member Appavu has been nominated by the party  for the Speaker post and K.Pichandy is nominated for the deputy Speaker's post.
