A total of 174 nominations were found valid for the second phase of assembly elections in West Bengal. Additional CEO of the state Sanjay Basu told reporters yesterday that 2 nominations have been rejected during scrutiny held on Monday.
Meanwhile, Special Police Observer Anil Sharma is expected to reach Kolkata today. He has been appointed by the ECI for the upcoming assembly elections in West
Bengal in addition to Vivek Dubey.
According to sources in the state election department, 725 companies of Central Forces will be required for conducting free fair and peaceful polling in the first phase of assembly elections.
Already 495 companies reached the state and another 200 companies is expected to arrive soon.
