In Manipur, security forces have recovered the bodies of two civilians amid ongoing rescue operations to ensure the safety of the remaining six abducted civilians in the Jiribam district. The civilians were abducted by suspected militants.
The Inspector General of Police (Operations), Manipur, Dr. I.K. Muivah, said that the attack by militants on the Borobrekra Police Station and the adjacent CRPF post in Jakuradhor, Jiribam district, yesterday was successfully repelled. After the gunfight,
security forces conducted a search operation and recovered the bodies of 10 militants, along with a variety of weapons and ammunition.
The IGP also said that the bodies of two internally displaced civilians (IDPs) who had fallen victim to the attack, were recovered during the search operation. Six civilians, including three women and children, remain missing, and security forces have been conducting operations to rescue them.
