VISAKHAPATNAM: About 20 passengers were injured when a private bus, they were travelling in, flipped over near NAD Junction in Visakhapatnam early morning on Wednesday.
At around 4:15 a.m, the driver of the bus tried to avert a collision with a lorry but lost control over the vehicle and it flipped over, according to sources.
Alerted by the highway patrol, Vizag police rushed to the
spot along with personnel from emergency services. They broke opened the windows and brought the injured passengers out of the bus. Out of total 41 passengers, 20 were injured and taken to the King George Hospital.
Rescued passengers said the bus was overspeeding and blamed bus driver's negligence for the mishap.
Vizag police registered a case and are investigating.
