In Rajasthan, 22 people died in lightning at different places on Sunday.
11 people died and more than a dozen injured when lightning struck a watch tower at Amer Fort near Jaipur.
Several people from nearby locations had reached over the mountain near Amber fort to enjoy picnic.
The accident took place when some people had climbed over a watch tower to click selfies amid rain, when the lightning struck the tower. SDRF and police teams have rescued around 29
people.
The injured have been admitted to Sawai Mansingh Hospital for treatment. On the other hand, four children died in Kanwas village of Kota district and three children in Koodinna village of Dholpur district due to lightning.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Governor Kalraj Mishra and Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot have expressed grief over these incidents.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced an assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to kin of all the deceased.
