227 flights transported over 407 tonnes of essential medical supplies across the country

The Civil Aviation Ministry has said that government is determined to support India’s war against COVID-19 by transporting medical air-cargo within India and abroad in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Helicopter services including Pawan Hans Limited have been operating in Jammu and Kashmir,



Ladakh, Islands and North East region transporting critical medical cargo and patients. 

Domestic Cargo Operators SpiceJet, Blue Dart and Indigo are also operating cargo flights on a commercial basis. The Ministry said, Air India operated first flight between Mumbai and London yesterday carrying around 29 tons of fruits and vegetables to London and returned with over 15 tons of general cargo material.
