In Karnataka, 26 candidates filed nominations yesterday for the assembly election to be held on May 12th. The Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers in various constituencies received the nominations from candidates after the Election Commission had issued the notification on election schedule yesterday.
The last day to file nomination is April 24th. Scrutiny of the nominations will be held next day and the last day to withdraw the nomination is April 27. The Chief
Electoral Office in Bengaluru has said that no nominations will be received today due to holiday on account of Basava Jayanti.
Meanwhile, Leaders from different political parties are on the campaign trail across the state. The BJP National President Amit Shah has arrived in Bengaluru for two days tour. He will participate in Shakti Kendra pramukhs convention in Palace grounds in Bengaluru and will hold the roadshow in Hoskote today.
