26 die in lightning and rain related incidents in Bihar

In Bihar, 26 people died and 9 injured in lightning and rain related incidents in different parts of state. Most of the dead were farmers working in their fields, when the tragedy struck. Maximum 9 people were killed in Kaimur, while 17 lost their lives in Bhojpur, Patna, Jehanabad, Rohtash, Aurangabad, Arwal and Siwan



districts.

Expressing grief over the tragedy, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced an ex gratia of rupees four lakh to the next of the kin of those who lost their lives. Mr Kumar appealed people to take precautions and remain alert during lightning.
