27-year-old woman in Chennai's Thoraipakkam jumped off the ninth floor of her office building.

A 27-year-old woman working with an IT company in Chennai's Thoraipakkam jumped off the ninth floor of her office building on Monday.

The girl identified as R Priyanka, a resident of Andhra Pradesh, was reportedly upset about her family arranging a match for her.

CCTV footage from the building at Thoraipakkam shows Priyanka jumping to her death around 4.45 pm. Priyanka got engaged a few days



ago.

Before she jumped, Priyanka reportedly called her aunt at her hometown in Andhra Pradesh and told her that she was going to surprise everyone.

"We've not recovered any suicide note. Personal reasons appear to have driven her. We would further investigate after the post mortem. We are yet to check her computer," NDTV quoted a police officer saying.

The post mortem was conducted at the Government Hospital in Chennai.
