27th World Yoga Festival to begin on Jan 4 in Puducherry

In Puducherry the 27th World Yoga Festival will be held from - January 4th to 7th, 2022. Tourism Minister Lakshmi Narayanan informed about the festival in Puducherry. While interacting with the Media persons Minister Lakshmi Narayanan said that a separate portal has been created by the Tourism Department in the name of 

Pondytourism.py.gov.in, for those willing to participate, can register.

Participation fees for the local students has been waived off. Minister further added that the festival includes meditation, free yoga classes, wellness exhibition on yoga - naturopathy and natural



food outlets for the Public.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan led a consultative meeting with the Chief Minister Rengasamy, Ministers and other top officials to prepare a plan for the successful conduct of the youth festival.

The International Yoga festival is being conducted by the government in Pondicherry since 1992.

The festival witness tremendous enthusiasm from participants around the world earlier and expects to draw increasing number of people this year also.
