Patna: In Bihar 29 people lost their lives and 11 injured in Lightning and rain related incidents during the past 24 hours.
 
Highest casualties of 05 were reported from Kaimur district followed by three each in Bhojpur, Gopalganj and Rohtash districts.
 
Remaining 15 casualties were reported from 10 other districts. The injured are being treated at local hospitals. Most of the victims were working in agricultural fields when the lightning struck.

Chauhan and Chief minister Nitish Kumar have expressed grief over the loss of lives.
 
The Chief Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. four lakh each to the next of the kin of the deceased. He has also ordered free treatment to the injured.
 
Weathermen have cautioned people to remain as more rain and lightening are expected during the next 24 hours in different parts of the state. People have been advised to remain indoors during the bad weather
