The third main holy bath of on-going Kumbh Mela at Prayagraj would take place on Mauni Amavasya on 4th February at Sangam. Devotees and pilgrims have started coming from remote areas in large numbers ahead of the snan. Hotels, lodges and dharmshalas are mostly full in the Prayagraj City and large number of people have taken shelter at tent cities.
To ease the pressure of the crowd at Sangam area on 4th February the
administration has built 41 ghats for holy bath in Kumbh Mela area. For convenience of people the Kumbh Mela Authority has declared Kumbh Mela premises as no vehicle zone from today upto the day of holy bath 4th February. DIG Prayagraj KP Singh told media persons that entry of vehicles of emergency services
would only be allowed in the mela area.In view of massive gathering on Mauni Amavasya Snan the district administration has declared public holiday on 2nd,3rd and 4th February. All schools, colleges and government offices would remain closed for three days.
To ensure smooth traffic on mela routes entry of outsider four wheeler and other heavy vehicles have been restricted in the city on tomorrow and Monday. The Kumbh Mela Officer Vijay Kiran Anand told that it has been decided to stop Akshayvat Darshan on 3rd, 4th and 5thFebruary in view of crowd management at the recently opened religious site. He said three crore people are expected to take holy dip on upcoming Mauni Amavasya.
