Jammu and Kashmir Police has busted a terror module in the state capital of Srinagar, sources said on Wednesday.
Sources said that police had arrested three local militants, who were part of Hizbul Mujahideen, after they established a check point in the capital's Bemina locality.
All three militants are from Kishtwar in Jammu division, sources said.
Police sources said they arrested Riyaz Ahmad Wani, Ikhlaq Ahmad Khanday– both residents of Dachan
and Tosweef ul Nabi, a resident of Kishtwar town.
ARMS AND AMMUNITION SEIZED
Two Chinese pistols, 20 rounds of pistol, 4 grenades, a wireless set and one packet of explosive were recovered from their possession.
The arrested militants were working with Jehangir Saroori, one of the longest surviving militant commanders, in Jammu division.
According to the police, Saroori is the operational chief of Hizbul Mujahideen for Jammu division.
